Museums Cala Millor

Due to its nature as a youthful tourist town, Cala Millor does not host any museums within its immediate vicinity. However, for inquisitive travelers, there are still ample opportunities to engage in enriching experiences without venturing too far in this region of Mallorca.

1. You can visit the nearest settlement, Porto Cristo, where you can see the Dragon Caves.

Address: Ctra. de les Coves, s/n, 07680 Porto Cristo, Illes Balears.

Phone: +34 971 82 07 53.

These are ancient caves that are rich in stalagmites and stalactites. In ancient times, pirates hid their loot here. Many of the fossils resemble human faces. This is a must-see for children. The caves are open year-round from 10:00 to 15:30

2. The Castell de Capdepera is one of the unique places in Mallorca. It is the defensive fortress where King Jaime I signed the treaty annexing the island of Menorca to the Balearic Islands. The king ordered huge bonfires to be lit, which the Moors would see from the neighbouring island and thus decide that the King of Majorca had brought an enormous army. The ruse worked, and Jaime gained control of the neighbouring island.

There is a museum of palm leaf weaving, a chapel where a treaty was signed over 1,300 years ago and a bell that can be rung by anyone who wishes to do so.

Address: Carrer Castell, s/n, 07580 Capdepera, Illes Balears.

Phone: +34 971 81 87 46.

Open all year round from 10:00 to 17:00.

3. Just 5 km away from Cala Millor, there is another stunning destination that every tourist holidaymaker should visit.

Safari-Zoo Nature Reserve is where you can see animals in the wild by driving through a designated area by car or mini-train.

Rhinos, flamingos, giraffes, monkeys, zebras, llamas, roe deer, elephants and much other fauna are indeed found there. Safari-Zoo is one of Mallorca's most beautiful places to visit with children.

Address: Ctra. Porto Cristo-Son Servera, km 5, 07680 Porto Cristo, Illes Balears.

Phone: +34 971 81 09 09.
